Warm water allows individuals to perform therapeutic movements that would be difficult, impossible, or painful if attempted on land. The supportive and resistive properties of water allow safe and effective therapy that maximizes muscle and joint function.
Aquatic therapy is most appropriate for patients with:

- Balance or Walking disorders
- Fibromyalgia
- Idiopathic Joint Pain
- Low Back Pain
- Mastectomies
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Orthopedic or Arthroscopic Surgery
- Parkinson's Disease
- Scoliosis
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Stroke
- Tendonitis
To qualify for Aquatic therapy:
- Obtain a written prescription from your physician for physical therapy
- Be evaluated by an Anna Jaques Hospital licensed physical therapist
- HMO Patients need a referral from the primary care physician
