To help shed light on heart disease, the #1 killer of both men and women, Anna Jaques Hospital and The Tannery Marketplace embarked on an important heart disease awareness and prevention public service campaign, involving the seven communities surrounding the hospital.
In keeping with the spirit of the Winter Olympic athletes, heart disease survivors, elected officials, community volunteers, and professional runners carried a special Healthy Heart Torch over 35 miles between Newburyport, Newbury, Rowley, Georgetown, West Newbury, Salisbury, Amesbury, and back to Newburyport.
The Torch tour culminated with a challenge from The Tannery Marketplace to get physical—one of the most important healthy heart messages! Learn more about the Lace Up & Shape Up Challenge at www.tannerymarketplace.com.
And, before you leave this page, please click the links under the Torch to read important heart-healthy information. Feel free to print it out, and share it with the people you love.
Have a heart healthy day!
