In response to the recent outbreak of flu in our area, Anna Jaques Hospital will now limit visitors to the hospital to protect children, patients, their families and our employees from being exposed to and spreading the flu virus. Effective today, January 14, 2013:

  • Children under age 18 will not be allowed to visit patients. (Exceptions will be made for healthy siblings of newborns in the Birth Center.)
  • Patients may only have two visitors at a time.
  • Any visitors who have symptoms of influenza (fever, sore throat, cough) OR who live with someone who is experiencing these symptoms should not come to the hospital.

We are joining hospitals nationwide in taking this step as an added precaution throughout the flu season. Of course, limited exceptions for special circumstance visitations will be made on a case by case basis.  We recognize this may cause an inconvenience for some but the health and safety of our patients, families and employees must remain our top priority.

For more information about this year's flu season and what you can do to prevent and/or treat it, please visit here. For updated visitor policy information, please call 978-463-1450.

Thank you for your cooperation.
