Vascular surgery is a specialty of surgery in which diseases of the vascular system, or arteries and veins, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction.
Our clinical affiliation with BIDMC means that vascular surgical patients have access to the benefits of technological advances and exceptional care at our clinical-affiliate Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, while experiencing the quality and convenience of the community hospital setting at AJH for pre-operative testing and evaluation, and follow-up care. The surgery itself is performed at BIDMC. This gives patients the best of both worlds: access to world-class surgical care without the inconvenience of traveling to Boston for several pre- and post-operative appointments (often 4-6 times per year).
BIDMC offers surgical care for all diseases and conditions affecting veins and arteries. Known for both open surgery and minimally invasive techniques, the Boston-based specialists provide the highest quality of care, and are all Harvard Medical School faculty. These vascular surgeons are trained in the diagnosis and management of diseases affecting all parts of the vascular system except that of the heart and brain.
