Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Anna Jaques Hospital Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Psychiatry present five educational sessions describing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), how we teach it to the patients on our unit and how parents can apply the principals of DBT at home.  DBT is a therapeutic framework suitable for all ages.  Primarily, it is used to target emotionally reactive adolescents and adults.  Anyone who seeks to learn how to change their behaviors, emotions, and thoughts that may be contributing to difficulty can benefit from the techniques. Topics include Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.
