Mark Goldstein is President of Anna Jaques Hospital.
Prior to assuming the role of President and CEO in 2015, Mark served as Executive Vice President and CFO at Anna Jaques Hospital for 9 years and was responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of all financial policies and activities for the hospital.
Before coming to Anna Jaques, Mark was Senior Director in the Finance Department of Boston Medical Center, a private, not-for-profit, 557-bed, academic medical center with a community-based focus. Boston Medical Center has over 4,000 employees, 1,400 physicians and an annual operating budget of $1 billion.
Mark has more than 20 years of progressive healthcare experience, focusing on hospital financial operations and receivable management. He has held senior finance positions at Winchester Hospital and Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts. Mr. Goldstein is a member of the Massachusetts Healthcare Financial Management Association. He was the recipient of the Modern Healthcare 2001 "Up and Comers" award.
He received his BS from Worcester State College in Health Administration, with a concentration in accounting and an MBA from Boston University School of Management.
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Kevin is responsible for the overall financial management of the hospital. Kevin oversees General Accounting, Patient Financial Services, Information Technology, Health Information Management, Seacoast Affiliated Group Practices, and Materials Management. His scope of responsibilities includes revenue cycle operations, financial planning and treasury services.
Prior to joining Anna Jaques Hospital, Kevin was the CFO of Holy Family Hospital in Methuen which is a part of the Steward Healthcare System. Holy Family is a 190 bed acute care community hospital with revenue in excess of $180,000,000 annually. His focus was on revenue cycle operations and general financial improvements.
Kevin’s 25 plus year career includes senior financial leadership positions at Catholic Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Boston and Lahey Clinic. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Kevin received his bachelor’s in science degree in Finance from Boston University. He also received his Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care Finance from Boston University.
Glenn D. Focht, MD
Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Focht joined the team in 2021 as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Anna Jaques Hospital and Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Seacoast Affiliated Group Practice (SAGP).
Dr. Focht is an accomplished, thoughtful, and mission-driven physician leader with more than 25 years of experience leading high-performance teams. He has provided administrative oversight of the medical staff at multiple hospitals throughout his career, as well as the operations and leadership of large physician organizations.
Prior to joining Anna Jaques Hospital, Dr. Focht had served as President of Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group at Connecticut Children’s Hospital since 2017. This multi-specialty group includes 200 physicians and more than 100 advanced practice clinicians. Prior to that, he was with Boston Children’s Hospital as the Chief Medical Officer for the Pediatric Physician Organization at Children’s (PPOC) for five years. He also held the CMO and Vice President of Medical Affairs roles at Milford Regional Hospital and Cooley Dickenson for many years.
Dr. Focht is board certified in internal medicine. He received his medical degree from University of Pennsylvania and completed his internship and residency at University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Richard Maki, MHSA, BSN, BA, DN, RN
Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer
As the Chief Nursing Officer at Anna Jaques Hospital, Richard is accountable for the oversight of the professional practice of nursing while ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality, comprehensive care.
In his 16 years at Anna Jaques Hospital, and with over 25 years of management knowledge, Richard has helped to re‑organize and re‑tool the nursing division to create a culture of learning, mentoring, and care coordination. He is also passionately focused on nursing education and with the assistance of Bay State College has instituted an on‑site RN to BSN hybrid nursing degree. As a result of this partnership, nearly 60% of the hospital nurses now have acquired a four year college education.
Richard received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bay State College, his Bachelor of Arts from Salem State College, and his Registered Nurse Diploma from Malden Hospital School of Nursing. He also holds a Masters of Health Services Administration from St. Joseph’s College of Maine. He is a professional member of the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association as well as the Organization of Nurse Leaders.
Vice President of Clinical Services
As Vice President of Clinical Services, Gary oversees the direction and management of several clinical services departments, including the Anna Jaques Cancer Center, comprehensive pain center, diagnostic imaging, respiratory, cardiology, pharmacy, laboratory and rehabilitation services.
A seasoned health leader, he joined Anna Jaques in January 2015 from Steward Holy Family Hospital, having overseen clinical services for over 30 years. Gary started his career there — it was known then as Bon Secours — as a respiratory therapist and was promoted into various leadership roles over the years, including director of clinical services and cardio-pulmonary services. Gary is also an instructor at Northern Essex Community College for the Division of Continuing Education, Health Sciences, since 2009.
Gary holds a master of science in organizational management from New England College and a bachelor of science from Lesley College. He and his wife reside in Exeter, NH and have three children.
Director, Human Resources
Matt is an experienced human resources leader with nearly twenty years of progressive healthcare experience. He oversees the human resources function at Anna Jaques, including attracting and retaining talent, compensation and benefits, labor relations, and HR initiatives and programs to meet the needs of our 1,200 employees.
Matt has worked at the bedside in acute and long-term care settings before transitioning into healthcare administration. Matt has over a decade of experience in human resources, and most recently led Human Resources, Payroll, Employee Health, Patient Quality, Risk Management, Infection Control, and Provider Credentialing teams at York Hospital. Matt also has experience in human resources functions for the State of Maine and L.L. Bean.
Matt has made relationship-building with colleagues a priority throughout his career. He is both employee-centric and focused on the patient experience, building bridges among the staff and ensuring patient quality is at the forefront of decision making.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from the University of Maine and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. He lives in Kennebunk, Maine with his partner and beloved black lab named Wilma.
Vice President, Marketing and Business Development
Danielle assumed the role of Vice President, Marketing and Community Relations at Anna Jaques in 2012, and added Business Development to her responsibilities in 2015. Danielle is responsible for all marketing and public relations activities in support of the hospital and Medical Staff’s strategic priorities, including showcasing clinical programs and physician practices.
Danielle is a senior communications and marketing professional with nearly 20 years of experience leading the communications efforts for hospitals and well-known consumer brands. Most recently, she served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA, which is part of Steward Health Care. Prior to joining Holy Family in 2007, she led the public relations department at Monster.com. She has previously served as the Director of Public Relations at AT&T Wireless, and was Director of Marketing and Public Affairs for two HCA Healthcare hospitals in Denver, CO. Danielle also briefly taught public relations as an Adjunct Professor in Communications at Rutgers University. She is also the author of a book chapter for Inside the Minds: Marketing Leadership Strategies, an Aspatore Books – ThompsonReuters publication (2009).
Throughout her career, Danielle has a track record of developing and implementing communications plans that increase brand awareness, corporate reputation, market share, and revenue.
Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Business from Lehigh University and a Masters Degree in Communications from Rutgers University. She lives in North Andover, MA, with her husband and three children.
Executive Director, Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation
Mary assumed the role of Executive Director of the Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation in 2018 and brings more than 25 years of well-rounded fundraising experience grounded in relationship and community building.
Prior to joining Anna Jaques, Mary held the position of Director of Development and Community Engagement of Essex County Greenbelt Association since 2011 where she grew annual fundraising revenue, managed numerous large community-based campaigns for land acquisition and successfully concluded a $10 million capital campaign in a three year period. She also was the Development Director for the Essex National Heritage Commission, and has been active as a board member and leader for numerous regional non-profit organizations.
She is a graduate of Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and international relations.
