Hiring Process FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Hiring Process
What happens after I submit my application?
Every application submitted is forwarded to the appropriate recruiter and/or hiring manager responsible for that position. When evaluating your application, we review your background and experience and then compare them to the requirements of the position for which you are applying.
How can I find out the status of my application?
Candidates considered for an interview are typically contacted within two weeks of the time of application. All electronic applications are kept on file indefinitely. However, we encourage applicants to re-apply for new positions as they become available.
What are the pre-screening steps at Anna Jaques?
All candidates offered a position at AJH must pass a drug test and criminal background check as part of the pre-hire screening process. Our Occupational Health Department (located in Amesbury) conducts the drug test. The criminal background check is administered by the Human Resources department. Typically, the pre-employment screening process takes seven business days to complete. Once an applicant is “cleared,” then the job offer is confirmed and the employee is ready to start the orientation and training process.
What happens if I do not pass the drug test?
If a candidate doesn’t pass these tests, the job offer is rescinded. Applicants may re-apply after 6 months.
How should I prepare for my interview?
Research some information about the job you are applying for. Make sure to have a list of your references ready with you for your interview or list them on your application.
How will I orient for employment at AJH?
All (per diem, part-time, and full-time) new employees of the hospital are required to attend a full day hospital-wide-orientation. This orientation typically happens on the first Monday of each month in the Higgins Conference Room on our main campus. The Higgins Conference Room is located on the main hallway of the hospital, close to the Gift Shop. A continental breakfast and lunch are provided. Attire on this day is business casual.
How will I get trained in my new position?
Each new employee of Anna Jaques receives training regarding the specific policies and procedures of the department hired into. For nursing positions, our Nursing Education Department provides extensive training as well. You will learn more about your training and training schedule through your hiring manager or HR.
