At Anna Jaques Hospital, your child will receive the finest health care from experienced, board-certified pediatricians and pediatric nurses in a nurturing, family-centered environment. In addition to excellent medical care, Anna Jaques’ family-friendly environment means both parents can stay overnight with their child, if they wish. Your child will receive healthy meals via “room service” and be entertained with toys and DVDs while recovering. It’s comforting to know you can stay close to home and get the very best care for your children in the Merrimack Valley region.
Over 1,500 pediatric surgical procedures were performed at Anna Jaques in the last three years, with more than a third involving children 12 years or younger. Common medical problems we frequently treat include pneumonia, asthma, gastrointestinal problems, broken bones, infectious diseases and surgeries like tonsillectomies and appendectomies.
If you have given birth at Anna Jaques Hospital, you already know the care and compassion that we bring to families in the Greater Newburyport and Merrimack Valley area. Our pediatricians will continue to bring your child that same care and compassion.
When should you begin looking for a pediatrician? Most experts say about six months into your pregnancy. If you don't already have someone in mind, ask your obstetrician and friends in the area for a referral. Gather a few names and then set up interviews. For more information, download “How to interview a Pediatrician”.
Each year Anna Jaques treats thousands of children in our Emergency Department. From broken arms or fish hook injuries to more serious conditions, our Emergency Department has the experienced staff and pediatric expertise your child may need for timely and efficient care.
Should your child need more advanced care, Anna Jaques clinical affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center allows for the seamless transfer of patients from our Emergency Department to Boston by ambulance or MedFlight helicopter.
