Meet Our Physicians

Our team of board-certified obstetricians and gynecologists (OB/GYNs) are all specially trained in pelvic health and reproductive care. Thanks to a clinical affiliation with BIDMC, you also benefit from access to world-renowned specialists in maternal-fetal medicine (MFM). These physicians collaborate with our team to bring sub-specialty care to the greater Newburyport area.

Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs)

For a low-risk pregnancy, you may choose the services of a midwife. Our team of certified nurse midwives (CNMs) provides independent care for low-risk patients during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Our midwives follow the philosophy that for most patients, pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy events.

Our CNMs create a caring environment and establish a meaningful connection with you and your family. Your midwife provides individualized care that seeks to minimize unnecessary interventions. They offer the same tests, medications and procedures as their physician counterparts. They also provide gynecologic care and family planning and consult with our board-certified OB/GYN physicians and other specialists as needed.

Nurse midwifery care is covered by most private insurance carriers, Medicare, Medicaid and managed care programs.

Nurse Practitioners (NPs)

A gynecological nurse practitioner (NP) is a nurse who has received advanced education and training to care for patients through every stage of life, from adolescence to menopause and beyond. Working in partnership with you and in collaboration with board-certified OB/GYN physicians, the NP can assess, diagnose, educate and treat patients. They pay special attention to health promotion, disease prevention and chronic illness management.

Our NPs take a special interest in providing you with practical health education. They also take the time to understand all the complex issues that may affect your health, including family and work relationships, gender and sexuality, spiritual values and community.
