Breastfeeding Class
Breastfeeding classes are taught by Anna Jaques Hospital Lactation Consultants for mothers/birthing parents and their support person(s) to gain the knowledge and tools to help you successfully breastfeed/chestfeed your baby.
Topics Covered Include:
- Benefits to Parent and Baby
- Basic Anatomy & Physiology
- Myths vs. Facts
- Positioning and Latching-On
- Common Concerns
- Quick Pumping Info
- Community resources and supports available throughout journey
Parents should plan to attend in the third trimester of pregnancy. Please register early. Significant others are strongly encouraged to attend!
Class fee is $20 per pair. After registering for the Breastfeeding Class, you can expect an email within 4 days with payment information and more detailed class day information.
Virtual Class Option: If you would prefer to take a breastfeeding class online, independently and at your own pace, with no in-class experience included, the fee is $50. Register here.
Looking For Support Once Baby Has Arrived?
Baby & Me Support Group – Facilitated by a Birth Center Lactation Consultant/Registered Nurse
These groups are drop-in and at no cost. In this group we aim to provide support, encouragement and advice on parenthood, baby feeding, and the many questions that may arise after going home with your new child.
