Breastfeeding Classes (Virtual)
Breastfeeding classes are taught by Anna Jaques Hospital Lactation Consultants for mothers and their support person(s) to gain the knowledge and tools to help you successfully breastfeed your baby.
Topics covered include:
- Benefits to mother and baby
- Basic anatomy and physiology
- Myths vs. facts
- Positioning and latching-on
- Common concerns
- Pumping and storing breast milk
- Community resources and supports available once home with baby
Mothers should plan to attend in your third trimester of pregnancy, but you should register early. Significant others are encouraged to join.

Mother & Baby Groups, facilitated by a Lactation Consulant/Registered Nurse, are free for all mothers in our community to provide support, encouragement and advice on parenthood, breastfeeding, and questions that that arise after going home.
